Mary Salerno
Pottery

Mary recently returned to the creative arts after a long hiatus working as an administrator. She graduated from the University of Rhode Island in 1983 with a B.F.A. in studio art, concentrating in painting and printmaking. Her first experience with ceramics was shortly thereafter while she was obtaining her Masters of Arts Teaching Degree at Rhode Island College. After realizing how much she enjoyed the physical creativity of ceramics, she went on to join the RI South County Art Association’s Pottery Shop, where she continued to learn more about this wonderful form of creativity.
After her long hiatus she became a member of Dewclaw Studios in Pawtucket RI, where her love for this art form was rekindled. Most recently she joined Feet of Clay Pottery in Brookline MA, where she is continuing to explore form and design. She is working to combine her love of painting and design in the creation of unique functional forms, and excitedly looks forward to seeing what next comes out of the kiln.
